Moly
Better thinking before you hit send. Moly asks the one question that matters, then helps you write. It never decides for you.
How it works
- You describe what you want to say, to whom, and why.
- Moly asks one question about what is missing (who the person is, what you want).
- When it knows enough, it helps you write the message. You can skip the questions at any time.
Private by design
- Your conversations are stored on your computer, in an encrypted database.
- Use a model on your own computer (Ollama), or your own Claude or OpenAI key, protected by a passphrase.
- No account, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising network. Free and open source (MIT). A small card with a message from Moly or a sponsor may appear in its own area below the writing box, never between messages; you can hide it until you open Moly again.
Install
Moly has two parts: the extension for Chrome, Edge or Brave, and a small app on your computer that starts and stops with your browser.
Instructions for Windows, Mac and Linux: INSTALL.md. If the extension says "Install the Moly app", run the installer and press "Check again".
Good to know
- Moly is a writing coach, not a crisis, medical or legal service.
- It is a beta. Questions and problems: Hermes_creative@proton.me, or GitHub issues.
- Read the privacy policy for exactly what is stored and what leaves your computer.
